Jack and Helen McConnell Inducted into WCF Hall of Fame
Heartiest congratulations to Jack and Helen McConnell upon being elected to the Western Carolina Federation of Round and Square Dancing Hall of Fame. Induction occurred at the November 29, 2008 Federation Dance. Jack and Helen served as Presidents of the Western Carolina Federation for two years. In addition, they have been members of the Southern Lights Square Dance Club for eleven years and served two terms as Club President as well as having served as Vice President in charge of the new class in 1998. Jack and Helen worked on the Education and Sew and Save Committees for the 47th National Square Dance Convention in 1998 and served as Assistant Vice-Chairman of Registration for the 56th NSDC in 2007. For 8 years they have held Saturday morning review classes for Southern Lights new dancers in their home (Jack’s “Garage Stompers”) and they also started the ABC Square Dance Group in Lake Lure, NC in 2007.
